![]() But if that changes in a few years and more applications can use more cores then there would be a meaningful 20% gain and at that point i would wish i kept the 10 cores. The extra cores for most applications seem to limit to 6 cores looking at activity monitor. But seems like rosetta 2 doesn’t really know to make use of more than 6-8 cores and usually prioritize the efficiency cores. For final cut the encoder does most of the work so cpu doesn’t matter as much. ![]() For optimized apps like logic pro it does make difference but i don’t use logic. ![]() But i wonder how much of that fault is due to poor optimization of most applications. If i were to downgrade to 8/14 i know right now there probably wont be a huge difference in most tasks and i save $270 after apple education savings and upgrading ssd and power adapter (basically free apple care). ![]()
